Welcome to the website of Canton Chorus, a thriving and ambitious community choir based in the Cardiff suburb of Canton. As a community choir we are open to everybody – new members don’t have to undergo any form of audition. All we look for is enthusiasm and a willingness to learn; although the ability to read music is an advantage, it’s not a requirement.

... until our next concert - the first one indoors since January 2020!

It will take place at st John's church, Canton on Saturday 28 January at 7.30 pm. Works to be performed: Vivaldi's Gloria; the Te Deum in D by Henry Purcell; and Haydn's Paukenmesse (Mass in Time of War). More details to follow

As in previous years, our excellent tenor section member Richard Tebboth has arranged for us to sing carols at two children's establishments in the run-up to Christmas - the Hollies School on 20 December and Ronald McDonald House on the 21st. Details about what we'll be singing and when will be available at forthcoming Wednesday rehearsals, on 7 and 14 December

A new term starts for the singers of Canton Chorus on Wednesday 14 September. That's when we will back back in our usual rehearsal space at Canton Uniting Church (Cowbridge Road East CF5 1LH) and will start familiarising ourselves with a new repertoire which we hope to perform at a concert early next year. Definitely planned: Vivaldi's Gloria and Haydn's Paukenmesse (Missa in Tempore Belli).

We are always on the lookout for new members in all all parts - soprano, alto, tenor and bass. No audition is required - just turn up and see if you like us. Or get in touch with us beforehand (see under 'Contact Us' on this website).
